My largest, and favorite carry gun is a S&W stainless Model 66 in .357 Mag with a 4" barrel. I don't feel the need for anything larger, and it's just about perfect. When I need to go smaller I have a Colt 1903 pocket model (mini-1911) in .32 ACP, and a Beretta 950 backup.

Okay I'll do the Math for you, to find the area of a circle you need to get the radius which is from the center to one edge. On a 9MM that is actually one half of .357 or .1785 then you square that .1785 X .1785 = .03186225 and then you multiply that time Pi or 3.14 and it comes to .100047465 so there is a area figure for 9MM. Then we do the same for the .40 so half of that is .20 and squared that comes to .04 time Pi = .1256. Divide .1256 by .100047465 and you get 1.255404122433287.
So the .40 will make hole 25.540% bigger actually than any of the .357 diameter bullets out there.

I mean let's get it straight if we are going to put out some facts.

I'm gonna pick on you a little bit.:D

The 9mm is .355 so your math would be just a little off and this would make the percentage even greater than you mention....

But your formula is correct, as is the comparison to a 38 Special or .357 Magnum bullet. :s0155: Just not the 9mm.

I come up with .0989767 for the 9mm and 1.2695917 or 26.95% for the difference.

Now, what were we discussing????

How about ways to make a simple problem complex?

So the .40 will make hole 25.540% bigger actually than any of the .357 diameter bullets out there.

The area of the hole will be 25% greater, but the diameter of the hole will only be 14% larger. And obviously, I did not carry the decimals all the way out to the natzass so this is a macro view.

Revolver, larger than a 22. Here is the one I went with. 9mm Taurus model 905. It shoots great and is still small enough to conceal.

I don't know gents, but twoclones said he wants to go up in caliber. He carries a .357 caliber gun. Why can't we stop the bickering and just give him what he wants?

If she can carry a 50, why can't we humor him? :p

My 66 4" is sitting in the safe, I haven't fired it for many years. I carry a Kahr P45 with CT laser daily.
