Before he got side tracked by minor facts, he was about to use the tired but successful old musket argument.
That lie has really gained traction lately and must be stopped by facts as soon as it's tried.

>Repeaters existed at the time. And who knows what concepts were on the drawing board at that time.
>2nd A intended Citizens to have = to military! Concessions have been made already like full auto restrictions.

Neither did they contemplate the massive damage and disinformation that can be done using modern communications media. People's character can be assassinated worldwide in seconds using a laptop and the internet. Elections can be bought. People with unpopular opinions and politics can be discredited. People can be bullied into committing suicide. Perhaps the musket argument could be applied to putting limitations on the 1st Amendment? That should quickly silence the musket argument.

Saying our founding fathers didn't intend for us to have automatic weapons is ignorant, if our founding fathers were around today they would be packing dillion miniguns.
The reason for the 2nd amendment is not just for personal security but for citizens of a free state to be able to hold their elected govt accountable and honest, and in case of a tyranical govt we the people are tasked with returning things to their rightful order.
We are not giving the right to firearms to protects this country from outsiders, but to keep watch over our own.

I bet a 75 cal musket ball had the ability to do great harm as well.

Heck a .50 cal muzzle loader can drop a 1500lb buffalo or grizzly bear.

The founding Fathers most certainly intended for us to have the exact same firearms as the current military's of the world including our own. After what else could they have been thinking of leaning on their Pennsylvania Rifles and 75 cal Brown Bess's. The relation ship between the governments firearms and the civilians firearms only started to change in 1934. Until then we in fact had the right to the same.

So this stupid argument about there not being AR-15's at the time of the ratification of the Bill of Rights is worthless.

As bad as D Lemon is, he's gone against the grain of typical MSM on race issues a few times. I think there is at least a small part of him that doesn't believe all the crap that he and his fellow MSMers puts out.

I'm thinking he may one day turn into an actual journalist. If he follows his conscience instead of what he's been told to think all his life.

As a gay man and a minority he must have been fed a steady diet of msnbc style lies for many years. It will take a lot to turn him around.

Until then I'd say he's still plenty biased.

He's gonna have to turn himself around, he's finally getting educated on 2ndA rights and how guns operate while debating gun owners. One day he and his boyfriend maybe get robbed and beat up bad, that might change his mind on guns.

Getting lost ain't gonna happen anytime soon.
