Computer finally died

I had a laptop but a tower would suit me fine. I do have this thing for as little as I get on line away from home.

Regardless of Wintel or Apple (I use both), definitely go with an SSD drive - unless you need terabytes and terabytes of space for lots of data, the difference in speed is huge, and you can always backup data to an inexpensive external drive (saw one in Costco with 5 TB for $130).

I have Macs at home and at work I am forced to use Wintel (corporate supplied machine and policies). I write cross platform software so Macs work well for me when I am allowed to use them - I can run almost anything on them from OSX to Windows to Android to Linux/Unix.

I like OSX because it is stable, "it just works" and I can run other OSes in VMs on OSX - I can't easily run OSX in a VM on Windows.
