Genny Burdick is constantly trying to divert our attention to pink unicorns or other such nonsense and has done it again with SB327. From what I can tell, this bill does nothing other than reinforce the need to have a CHL to carry on Capitol grounds or in schools but it also has some gobbledegook about adaptions and child care. Is there anyone here who knows how to paraphrase and put this into something that us common people can understand?

that bill makes no sense. It*does*nothing. Open carry is already banned in the places listed in that bill. Concealed carry is already allowed in those places. So...WTF was the point?

Look at the bold faced for what is new and the italics for what is being removed. They are basically removing the blanket concealed handgun license exception for the crimes of carrying in a public building or school. Then later on she says that if the school or public building allows concealed carry then it isn't against the law to carry.

So basically each school and public building will get to set their own policy. If they say you can't carry concealed on their premise then you commit a felony even if you have a CHL.

It states it right in the summary "Modifies crime applicable to possession of firearm, or instrument used as dangerous weapon, while in or on school grounds. Requires entity controlling school grounds to adopt written policy before concealed handgun licensees may assert affirmative defense to crime. Declares emergency, effective on passage."

Anything in Bold is what is being changed or added.

In other words: GUN FREE ZONE at schools -- even with CHL. (Guns prohibited)

    We can't let this pass!

Clearly this bill is what we need. Because gun free zones work so well, amiright? Sometimes I think a vast quantity of our politicians never really reached the brain function necessary to be truly sentient. They just sort of cruise along, following the flow, without ever really thinking.

This bill is actually, in a way, worse than 326. 326 will punish law abiding citizens, and could cause issues if being attacked by more than one assailant. But in all reality it'd just be an inconvenience (drive over to WA). This bill, on the other hand, can actively harm public safety and children's safety. Sigh.

Burdick should be sued till she is forced to sell her body to aids ridden meth heads if CHL holders are kept out of schools permanently and someone subsequently shoots up a school with nothing to potentially stop them. BURDICK WANTS DEAD KIDS. That should be a tshirt.
