Just a quick check to see if there are/were members like me. With the laws WA passed, I've been in a firearms depression and completely disengaged from the community out of disgust of the state of my state.
AWB makes it a joke to get parts. Somehow one company will let me order an upper receiver, but won't ship me a flash hider or forward assist. Another one will sell me those but not a barrel!?
Mag ban won't even let me get a 2011, thank goodness there is the Platypus I'll see in maybe 6 months. Hell, can't even get the lever action I want cause it has a fricking threaded barrel.
I'm doing better now, but still upset. Just took me a while to get through my stages of grief.

Totally get it, friends and I still gripe about it from time to time. Sadly, many still don't even know what the new laws are and come here and vent.

I mean at least stare down the lights even it's a train coming at you. This one-party rule is for the birds.

I can certainly relate. I haven't even thought seriously about any new firearm purchases. Still browse the classifieds and have picked up a few gun related items, but it seems I'm too busy with other stuff to even go to the range.

The governor in Cali just signed in 25 new laws, so you should feel happier that you are safer if you ever go down there. Sarc/off

It's telling that Gov. Moonbeam Brown was vetoing most gun laws before he left office. When he is the voice of reason in Cali, be very afraid.

I can relate. I was on a gun-buying frenzy for a while, but am running out of storage space (for my ammo as well). I pretty much took a break for several months, couldn't even muster up any desire to get out to the range. The political situation, everything that's going on in the world, stuff's got me down a bit, I guess.

You will love the platypus. It is awesome. I had mine in 4.5 months just FWIW.

The President of Clark Rifles sent out a letter to the members recently informing them that Cascade Firearms in Vancouver is closing the doors in the very near future. He had received a letter from the owner that he was going out of business due to the new insurance and security requirements mandated by the state. Dale, the owner of Cascade, had already decided to move to Western Montana, but his intent was to keep Cascade open and let his son-in-law manage it. Dale will have a shop / store near Thompson Falls, but his presence in Washington is no more. Sure, his was a "Mom & Pop" outfit, but they can't afford to comply with Washington law. There have been a number of other small firearms stores leave the state as well. I would bet the larger retail outfits will be targeted next.

Cascade firearms is officially closed. I helped them close up weekend before last. Absolute damn shame!! Dale and Chris are wonderful people. That's the anti gun folks getting their way. Get the mom and pop shops out, then bully the larger retailers or over regulate them until they can no longer comply either. I wish Dale and his wife the absolute best in their endeavors in Montana!

Lots of dumb , useless laws , bans , fees both state and retail and such here in Washington ....sigh.
Depressed...no.
Can't let the brass turds wear me down.
That said....ain't happy about all the firearm BS here either..

In any event...
I am happy with what I own.
Not as in I'll never buy another firearm...but happy as in I truly enjoy what I own.

When I'm down, I buy 1,000 of various freedom pills...
A buddy recommended the little blue pills... I had to tell him that I wasn't down, down there anyway...

But yeah, I keep buying ammo, just because it's there, and then realize that I cannot possibly shoot it all. My kids should inherit enough that they can get to the range once a month for twenty years after I'm gone... and may have stuff left over to give to their kids.

We've had two (that I know of) local gun shops close since the last round of heinous legislation; that makes me sad. Little things keep coming up, too, like both the state and the federal government eyeing banning all lead ammunition (Biden seems to think he may be able to use an executive order, in spite of the latest Chevron ruling), while the buzz i hear about what ideas are percolating in our state legislature's pea-brains are worrisome, given the success this state has had in passing so many unconstitutional bills with SCOTUS seemingly asleep at the switch (as far as ensuring enforcement of Bruen).

Understand that this is EXACTLY what the Antis want...for people to get so fed up and frustrated with the situation that they just give up and don't bother.

Believe me, I understand the frustration. Having spent most of my life in the godforsaken 2A wasteland of leftist Kommifornia, I am VERY familiar with stupid and insane gun laws, bureaucracy, and nonsense.

I am currently staring down the barrel of yet another California CCW renewal. We get the joy of this renewal nonsense every TWO Eff'ing years. And joy of joys, there's a new twist this year in that the required "safety class" has now been increased from a four hour class at $100 to an 8 hour class at $200. If it were your first time class, it would 16 hours at $400. Some counties also require psych evals on top of this at $150. My county, fortunately, does not require this but I'm looking at over $400 every two stinking years to exercise what is supposed to be my GOD GIVEN FREAKING RIGHT!

And as an added bonus, this year I am now required to list THREE personal references...people who can vouch for my character. For Eff's sake! I'm OLD! At 58 I'm already well into the part of life where your friends are dying...not like I have many to begin with at this point because...well...I'm old and people suck. But do you know how hard it is to find pro gun friends in this stupid state?

I can't list the couple of family members that I have left because they are lefties. And one of these references are supposed to be a significant other of some sort...except I'm single and there's no way in hell I'm listing that last woman I dated because...well...that B***h is crazy.

But the fact that we can even get permits...thank you Bruen...is a sure sign of progress in this fight. And I'll be damned if I let these A-Holes frustrate me to the point of surrendering my permit.

You cannot let the A-Holes win!

Do NOT give up the fight!

WOLVERINES!
