The first run of 901's are coming off the line in the next week or two and they're eager to get them out. I'm getting one to demo for the summer! I'm happy to answer any questions you have and I'll post a video range report afterwards. I was lucky enough to shoot this and the SCW at the NDIA conference last month and I'll say it shoots like a hot 5.56. Now realize I only fired 10 rounds through the 901 that day. They're shipping me the magwell adapter and some magazines this week. I have a 6940 that I will be using as the 5.56 upper conversion in the demo.

:huh:RE: 901 range report question submissions.
Keep them short and post 'em on this thread. No PM's please.
I won't do any destructive testing, so don't ask.
I will do mud, water and dust testing.
I will use an EoTech EXPS3-0 for close-in & a Trijicon ACOG or TR24G for distance.
I'll try a variety of bullet weights, if there's something specific you want to see, let me know.

Pictures and video please! Any idea on pricing?

I thought MSRP was around $2200.
The first ones will probably go on Gunbroker for $6000.

I have 11 coming in from Colt after the first batch that is sidelined to go to the gun magazines and some independent LE testing.

One of them is supposed to go out for an independent test, and I'm not sure where the other 10 go.

Oh, one is for Predator, and I get one.
They should hit distributors soon after that.

I'm getting one of the media testers, should be here next week. I received the tracking number for a package of accessories today and I'll post pics when it arrives.

coctailer is right on the MSRP but expect it to stabilize around $1900 after they've been out for 6 months.

Mine will probably take a while.
Colt today...
"The 901 is currently in endurance testing phase. The release date is dependent upon performance standards. We hope to have an official update on the product soon."

I played with them at SHOT and in NY in April. Pretty nice.....

I received a box from Colt today with the parts for the 901 and some marketing flyers.

Here's the magwell adapter. I attached it to my 6940 upper to show how it goes on. Then, it just slips into the magwell of the 901 to take the 5.56 magazines.

OK guys, here's a little more gun porn.I cleaned it up and took a family photo with my 6940. Then I changed the upper and took a couple more. I'm going to the range on Thursday to do a video. I'm taking some extra time because I have a buddy of mine helping out as a surprise guest!

The finish is lovely, once it's cleaned up. Colt doesn't cheap out on the anodizing. Nice tight fit, no rattle at all.
