Just checked, and i have a shipping number so it is shipping! I feel kinda bad sending it to my FFL, as they have that model for sale, but at $600 more than i paid, so couldnt pass that up! Hoping the trigger on this one is as good as the 6" stainless Python i currently have, which I feel is really good, but granted I dont have many wheel guns and not much experience with how good they can get . . .
Good for you! Some days you just live right and get rewarded for all the good and kind things you've done.

FYI that Guns.com just dropped a deal on the 4" blued Python- $999!! And that doesnt include the current $100 rebate they have going, which lowers the price to $899!! I could not resist and had to order one. PS order quick if you want one- it just got posted to Reddit GunDeals, and will probably sell out fast:
I see this as a sign of a blessing from Paul Harrell ...... since you missed out on one deal in his collection I believe this is a gift personally for you . :) Enjoy this item as I'm sure Paul would .

Turn around was pretty quick at the time (3 or 4 weeks) 18-months ago. Pricing was $150 I want to say. I just looked at their website and it shows $165 for revolver action job with a 2-5 week turnaround.
I emailed McCluskey Arms yesterday, from their reply:

We can get a crisp trigger pull within a range of weights, whatever your goal weight is. Many of the new Colt revolvers have an unsatisfactory single action in order to meet California safety regulations. Our rate on a trigger job is $145 and would take about 5 weeks from the time we receive the pistol.

Very reasonable I thought and a fairly quick turnaround.

You'll have to let us know how you like it. Good deal for you 👍. One gun out, another one back in to fill it's place, right?

Good luck. Too bad for me, you snooze, you lose. By the time I read your post (thank you) they were back up to $1599.99. That was an amazing deal...I'd bet that someone is responsible for a misprint or something in posting the price...wonder if he's still working there. Got my fingers crossed for you that they will honor your order. They should being a reputable company. If you decide to sell it after it arrives let me know...I'd be happy to cover your time and shipping costs, and even arrange to come pick it up (LOL).

4" Colt Python arrive today, picked it up this afternoon! Pretty insane to get this for $899. Had to take some photos of her with her sister the 6" stainless. Makes for a pretty epic pair!

Wow!!! Happy for you. Occasionally the good guys win and it's fun to see that happen. Let us know how it shoots and what you think of the trigger, and how your ' compares both with the trigger and the "shootability" comparison.

I picked up the Python this week and headed to the range. Really impressed with it. DA trigger is one of the best I've ever experienced, smooth and predictable. SA is a tad heavy and you can see the hammer come back a bit before it lets go.

I will shoot it a bit more and see if it smooths at all but I'm guessing the hammer coming back before it releases isn't going to change so I'll get it to McCluskey Arms and get that sorted as well as getting it lightened up some.

The rear sight is going to be changed out to a Wilson as it wobbles side to side and the windage screw has no friction to it, I could probably turn it with a fingernail.
Overall impression of the gun? Yeah, you could say I'm happy with it :)

Totally forgot to report out on the status of the newly acquired 4" python- it may have to be sent back to Colt ;-( .

There is a problem with two things- the trigger and the cylinder release. Cylinder release is very rough, not smooth at all. When compared to my stainless it is night and day. The stainless 6" is so smooth and silky.

But more importantly, the trigger doesnt always fully reset. I know you are supposed to release to FULL reset on revolvers, and especially with the Pythons, there is actually almost two 'reset' points- a false reset click, and then final click as everything resets.

Well with my new blued 4", when i fire it and release the trigger without riding the trigger, everything is fine- trigger slams back forward, everything resets. However if I 'ride' the trigger at all, or intentionally slowly release the trigger back to starting point, the gun does not fully reset. The little nub, which I think is called the 'bolt', doe not click back to full reset, and it requires me to gently push the trigger from the back to get it to reset, or to wiggle the cylinder, then it will click to reset. If it doesnt, the trigger freezes and wont fire.

My 6" stainless does not have this issue, it is smooth as butter. I attempted to fix by removing the side plate, lightly oiling and making sure all parts were in their proper places, and then properly torquing the screws back to spec, but no dice.

Before I have to ship it back, any one have any suggestions?

Shoot it more the way it likes to be shot. That will allow the mating faces to work against each other and should smooth it out.
That's what I would do.
