The third Colt Model of 1911 made, serial number 3, will be auctioned tomorrow

Braxton's Auctioneering has been given the honor to auction an extremely rare firearm, the Colt 1911 Serial No.3. This gun is from the family of John H. Hester; a Major General who served in WWI and WWII . He enlisted in 1906 and retired in 1946. Phone and left bids will always be welcome. Payment of Firearm will take place by wire transfer ONLY. The sale will take place in conjunction with Braxton's Labor Day Gun and Military Auction that will start at 10am Eastern, Monday, Sept 2, 2019. Plan to attend this amazing event!

Colt M1911 No. 3 is the 2nd lowest serial number M1911 known to exist.

You can bid online. Current bid is at $40,000 +18% buyer's premium so get your bid in before it is too late!

EDIT: it sold for $120,000 + 10-13% buyer's premium to someone on site.

That is very cool. And fugly at the same time.

No offence intended for those SERIOUS firearms collectors.

If I Collected Colts instead of Smith and Wessons I'd be VERY interested. Personally, I think that should be in the Browning Museum in Ogden Utah!
