I wanted to let everyone know that I saw a Colt 6920 in the gun rack at the Grants Pass Walmart. Price was $1097.00 Hopefully these top of the line weapons will be showing up more and more in big box stores. Man I love Oregon!

Some walmarts sell guns. It's mainly hunting rifles and shot guns but recently they started carrying ar15. Good brands like colt and sig with the occasional bushmaster thrown in too. No handgun in Portland but I think some southern Oregon stores might be though

Wal-Mart on Sandy Boulevard also carries long rifles.

Yeah, they have 6920s here at the Walmart in Longview too. I almost bought one but found an LMT elsewhere instead.

Hmmm. Not sure. Are the rollmarks the only way to tell?

The buttstocks are different too. LE6920s look like the standard M4 buttstock, the SP6920 buttstocks look alien to me

The easiest way to tell, is by looking at the serial number. The newer LE6920s do not have the rollmark stating they are restricted to law enforcement or military use, but the serial number will start with LE.

    I have a bunch of 6920s.
They are roll-marked M4 Carbine and come with the new stock.

I don't think they make the SP anymore. Just the LE.

They dropped the "Restricted" wording though.

Oops, sorry Coctailer - I didn't know you had them. That might have changed my mind...

... But since I didn't know you had them, I decided to see if was true that the Walmart on Sandy had LE6920's by driving across the river from Camas. Took some cash just in case. I was so shocked to see longarms at a PDX Walmart that I decided to buy it, even though I didn't really need it. Long story short, after about an hour of waiting for a) a 'trained' associate to open up the gun cabinet, and b) the store manager to show up so she could escort me out the store after making the purchase, the transaction went very smoothly.

    Price was $1097.

Here's the cabinet. Wow! Firearms at a Walmart. Haven't seen that for about 12(?) years here in WA - Colt's up on the TOP SHELF :

Cool. An AR in the Walmart parking lot. Sweet:

The Medford Fred Meyer's has handguns, last I saw a couple of months ago. Mostly springfield XDs and 1911's of some sort if I remember right.
