*in Fauci Cultist Retard voice* "Ohnoes the Black Death is back! LOCK IT DOWN LOCK THE WHOLE WORLD DOWN RITENAO FOREVER!!!!1!!!!!1!!!!!1!!!!!!"
I'm sure the little troll would endorse leaches and submit a patent on a new method of trepanning. 24 hr news cycle would push wearing garlic and cloves around the neck to ward off the evil spirits as well as mandatory mercury or arsenic injections. No one would be allowed to shop without presenting their bloodletting passport. After all, this was the undisputed science to cure bubonic plague during the Black Death... and they insist on "following the science".

You need to think bigger, as in more expensive. The drug companies are raking in tens of billions of dollars on this racket.

Fear porn? :s0093:
I don't think so. Plague is endemic in the western United States, although usually confined to rodent populations. Human cases occasionally occur, although as stated in the article, are rare. Most often a pet will pick up an infected flea after contact with an infected rodent, and then transfer the flea to the pet owner. But again, such cases are rare. I hate to have to cite the CDC, but they say there are about 7-10 human cases in the US each year. Fatalities are much less common. The health departments of several western states as well as the National Park Service carry out routine plague surveillance programs.

The article seems to take a calm, reasonable approach to reporting this event. I wouldn't call it fear porn at all.
