Gun rights victories will come with repeal of onerous, do-nothing laws

Yesterday’s Washington Times carried a piece by former National Rifle Association President David Keene, recalling how voters tossed out two anti-gun politicians last year for passing gun control laws, and while that seems like a victory, the laws remain on the books.

The next lawsuit against Chicago will need to be one equating the licensing requirements to a Poll Tax, namely, placing a barrier to exercising a Constitutional Right. There is plenty of legal precedent on this, and the fact that race can be established as a factor should enable a favorable decision.

Now, we don't know if race could be established as a factor or not. Just because there's a Washington Times story that says this is a problem doesn't mean a federal judge is going to agree with that assessment.
