Why trade the mags? Are they not feeding properly? Mine wouldn't feed at all till I took them apart and worked the feed lip over with a Dremel to match the 5 rounder. They work great now.

I was told that I had to use 5 round mags to hunt sage rats.

There is no limit to mag capacity in a bolt action rifle, even for deer

From the ODFW site...
Semiautomatic rifles with a magazine capacity greater than five cartridges prohibited (except for western gray squirrel).
