This is a terrible idea. If you are honestly that jumpy and require a device like this perhaps you should not be in that line of work or toting a firearm in the first place.

While I understand seconds count attaching this silly device in the middle of an altercation could still cost the office or his or her life secondly what happens if this jams the slide? In the firearms world there is a slew of variable physics.

Well the company is based in California which could explain a lot. But if you are going to have a non-lethal option it should be a dedicated weapon so there are no mistakes.

Now! Wait up here!

The news isn't about the less lethal! It's about, finally, giving the Glockster's a way to make they're pistols look less pukey! Given how Glock's look now this is an epic breakthrough!:p

Conceived and designed in the finest coffee shops in San Francisco
and after years of research and field testing the first prototype....

They then decided that it would be a better idea to put it on the gun itself...
...to make the gun look wess scaaawy

But the single shot was not good for multiple threats...
Here's a sneak peek at their next brilliant idea...

The PCC (Pelosi Crowd Controller), or simply the "PC".

It is rumored that Floyd Pinkowski helped design this, for the safety of all the criminals it may be pointed at...

Look towards a future "Emergancy Bill" where all gun owners must Buy One, and have it installed by a New company called "Gun Controllers who want to make Guns Safer"

Financial Backing is unknown at this time....

philip

Is there a reason why cops dont just use tranquilizer guns in certain situations? Obviously most situations would require a real gun, but some of the "questionable" shootings that make it to the news seem like they couldve been avoided. For example, several cops surrounding an unarmed crazy man, or same situation but the guy has a knife...just seems like tranquilizer guns would be perfect for this type of situation where there are multiple cops with real guns standing by just in case. Would prevent a lot of law suits if nothing else...

I just watched the video again with some friends...
...and the consensus is...??

It looks like all they managed to invent is a way to make absolutely certain that a cop in a high stress situation will blow the fingers off of his weak hand..Heck! depending on the type of training there's a high probability of loosing fingers in practice! So, if the intent of the device is to cause retirement due to dis-ability....they aced it!

It is hard to image the level of incompetence required to allow anything this idiotic to advance beyond the, "concept doodle on a bar napkin stage".

Not non-lethal

Less lethal - show me a real, not simulated, ballistics gel test. I would bet anything that the metal ball doesn't bounce off the gel. Hit someone in the head with that and it stands a good chance of killing them.

And there are many other problems with it, including the danger of putting something on the muzzle end of a handgun while in a high stress situation.

Then there is the issue of LEOs trained to shoot until the threat goes down, and that turning into a free for all where everybody shoots until they run out of ammo once the first shot is fired.
