Even when I was a kid, finding good workers who would work harvesting fruit for a low wage was almost impossible and it has only gotten worse.

Those workers were not hungry. We've had socialism in this country for a very long time.

Certainly, many people will not want to work. If there is a government around, they will suck the government teat. But they may not have that choice. Amazing what a good motivator an empty belly is.

This was more a case of no accountability to their parents for their day's work. Most kids didn't even come out to work, and most who did didn't work, they goofed off. Not that I was immune to that, but since they were working on my family's farm, my family was right there if I goofed off and I didn't get away with it.

The migrant labor we had, worked harder than almost anybody else. Their livelihood depended on it. Kids who came out from the city were just looking for a little bit of spending money so they could buy the latest record or clothes without begging their parents for the money.

Certainly, many people will not want to work. If there is a government around, they will suck the government teat. But they may not have that choice. Amazing what a good motivator an empty belly is.

Or the gov. will try to take over the farms - which is what they tried in China and Soviet, and failed miserably - but a LOT of people starved and died.

Which is my point; the smart prepper will see this coming down the road and not just stock up on food, but find ways to grow it themselves.
