I have started the kids off on an older Savage MKII. It has an adult stock on it and does not fit them well. Not an ideal situation for training. Boyd's stocks are $150 and up and at that price I am inclined to just get a new 10/22 compact (youth) there are about $250. Are there any cheap replacement stocks for the MKII around? I suppose I could cut down an adult stock and Frankenstein it....

I'm on the same quest for a Mod. 70 long action.

A decade ago you could pick from 2 - 4 options for youth stocks listed in the Brownell's catalog.

Now with the popularity of MSR's it's nigh on impossible to find a wood youth stock outside of a few .22LR models.
