I have a Rem 870 that I bought for Clays and hunting (some day) and I bought a Stevens 320 (China copy of a Winchester)because I wanted a "trailer gun" for defense. I won't compare them side by side because I know the Stevens can't hold a candle to the Rem.
The Rem.is nice shooting and will do what I want it to do. The Stevens go's bang out the right end when I pull the trigger and the bad guy falls down. That's all I want from it.I could have bought the parts to change the Rem. but that would most likely have cost more than to buy the Stevens and now I have another gun.
The way I look at it I won't buy a $500 hammer (government issue) if I am only going to drive a few nails now and again. I will go down and buy harbor Freight $10 hammer (most likely one of my sons will borrow it and not return it anyway). If I had a job were I needed a $500 hammer I would go down to The Hammer Room and buy one.

I would trust it to this one

actually now that I have had a few minutes to ponder that I would like to rephrase it to

I actually trust my life to my Ruger 357 and the Stevens is mostly for visual effect, first two shells are beanbags

Nothing is wrong with inexpensive Chinese shotguns. I still wish we had inexpensive Chinese AKs on the market. In either case, the Chinese know how to make perfectly capable firearms.

I'm typing this reply on my Chinese-made Logitech backlit wireless keyboard, looking at an enormous Chinese-made Samsung LED monitor, listening to music on an excellent set of Chinese-made Klipsch speakers.

For me the Stevens brand is a tainted brand that i can't trust my life to. I May or may not send in this shotgun to get it replaced just to sell it which would most likely not make back half of i what i paid for it or i will just keep it as a reminder not to purchase any more of their guns. It can still be used as a single shot shot gun but it's quite annoying having to manually load another round each time when it wasn't designed that way. I paid a hair over 200 for mine. Looking back i should have saved up another hundred or so dollars and gotten a Rem 870 like i had originally planed.

Which Stevens model did you purchase, I have a model 350 that has run excellent except for when I didn't clean it for the first year. It started the lock the trigger mechanism, I can hardly blame my own neglect on them for the firearm not functioning as intended. After a complete teardown and thorough cleaning it has ran like a top.

I have the Stevens 320 12 gauge,

I have a 12 gauge H&R Pardner that was my first shotgun, I've put box after box through it, all kinds of shot and slugs and never had a problem. Well since 870 stuff is interchangeable I did have issues with the sling end cap, it keeps coming loose. Its one of the Uncle Mike ones. Besides that, never had any issues and wouldn't mind picking up another one.

I would buy a Turkish anything over Chinese firearm without blinking. The Turkish arms industry is seriously underrated, and they're producing a lot of high-quality firearms right now.
Plus, Turkey is a secular democracy and a military ally to the US. China is a totalitarian regime that employs slave/child labor. I would much rather send money to Turkey than China.

The way Chinese cheat on cutting corners is imbedded like concrete in there culture & You see it every day with there knockoffs .
I have talked personally with guys that are contracted to follow them for contract compliance of product quality in VERY large-$$$ marine manufacturing . Chinese will show you the quoted contract quality material to your face on the truck when QC inspected . Then drive and turn the corner and unload and replace with cheaper inferior spec. right under there nose .
You buy Chinese and that's the chance you take .
-----
Is it true that Winchester subcontracts models of there Pump SG's for production to Istanbul Turkey arms manufactures ?
.

It is cheap. So you have no reasons not to be patriotic.

Buy American firearms: M&P pistols, Remington shotguns, Daniel Defense rifles. They are good and high-quality, made by people who believe in the same Constitution.

I have a Turkish (Escort Pump 12 Gauge) that I picked up at Big 5 when I had a need for a shotgun. I just ran down and grabbed the one that felt good. I didn't know who made it until months later.

I'm more picky about other firearms purchases, but this was a while ago and it was an impulse thing.

I do trust my life to it, but I have beat it up extensively.

The screws that hold the strap (And magazine end cap) on were too small and have been upgraded, the barrel shroud on it fell off and needed to be fixed, and the ring that holds the shells in was a hair too small to allow the big magnum Sellier and Bellot shells to cycle through, and I had them bored out a little and everything is tight and cycles perfectly.

It took some work, but I trust it now. I would definitely beat the crap out of your shotgun (Even a Remington, which is my next purchase) when you first get it. There will probably be adjustments needed. Or maybe it was just mine...
