I'm thinking about the various categories I can group firearms into - maybe for storage, or maybe just to relieve today's boredom.

But I might store the things according to their most common uses, or intended purpose. Might be helpful for my heirs to have things organized that way.

None of the firearms pictured here are mine. The pictures all came from Mr. Google.

(1) Toys

Dart guns
Squirt guns
Paintball guns

(7) Carry for Community & Self Defense

I looked for pictures of rifles with fuzzy dice on them, but only came up with leg warmers and one sad, red tassel.

Opens up another category though: Decorated vs. Undecorated Guns.

Does it hurt less if you get shot by a gay gun?

LOL... I really got inside your head, huh? :s0140:

I actually have the bottom gnome out in the front flower bed... :D

I've been giving this a bit of serious thought, and have arrived at the following:

1. Pleasure Guns

A. Toys

B. Decor

C. Collectibles

D. Replicas

2. Working Guns

A. Hunting

B. Animal Control

C. Home Defense

D. Personal Defense/Carry

E. Competition

F. Instruction

G. Target Practice

3. Fighting Guns

A. Societal Collapse

B. Open Warfare (Invasion)

C. Community Defense

D. Revolution/Resistance (Guerilla Warfare)

The fighting guns could be supplemented by any other functioning firearm. But those designated as "fighting guns" should probably be stored separately. Then if confiscators show up, they'll get the first two categories - but not the third.

Of course, with the rise in boating accidents, there may not be any "fighting guns" left for the confiscators to find.
