Case Head Gouging on Bushmaster AR

Just an o-ring and spring in mine. I'm gonna just run the new spring by itself and see how it runs.

I'm having the same problem on a upper build I just finished. What all did you change?

I put in a new extractor spring and the rubber buffer that sits inside the spring. There was no O-ring in mine and I didn't add one. The old rubber buffer had some cuts in it that the spring coils were hanging up in. I think that made the extractor spring very stiff.

I ran 60 rnds through mine today with just the new spring installed. All rounds landed in a two foot area. Zero issues. The cases do not show additional claw marks. I'm going to continue to run mine in this configuration until I have a failure. Thanks for the tips!
