Wanted a 67 Corvette since I was a kid. Picked this one up about 24 years ago. Don't drive it as much as I should, but still enjoy it when I get behind the wheel.
Spring is just around the corner.... I'm in.

I restored a 49 Jag and put a Buick v6 and auto trans in her. Ran pretty good… till it was stolen 2 weeks after I moved to San Diego in '89.
Glad I had replacement value insurance on it.

Gorgeous.
Love the sound of the sidepipes on Vettes and Cobras. Nothing else quite like it.
Thanks. I too like the sound of the side pipes. Driving this one reminds me a bit of riding a motorcycle, another activity I have enjoyed since I was little.

With the top down and the sound from the side pipes, you get some of that feel of being on a motorcycle.

I had a 80 series Toyota Landcruiser with a straight 6 non-turbo diesel. It was full time 4x4 and nice to drive. And then I got the idea to do a engine swap/conversion.

I put a mechanical injection 6.5 Chevy Turbo Diesel in it as well as converting the the full time 4x4 to a system where I could swap between 4x4/4x2 with a button on the dash.

By the time I got that thing running sweet/reliable I had sunk waaaay too much cash into it and was happy to sell it on to a guy who was going to put a supercharger on it!

I believe earlier Jaguars had electricals supplied by Lucas, The Prince of Darkness!
Talking to a college friend's dad about his new 1970 Jaguar XJ-6, I asked him if it had Lucas electrical parts. His response, in a thick Russian accent: "That man Lucas should be taken out and shot!"

In talking to him, I learned that he had been born near Moscow, and his family, being Jews, decided to flee the Russian Revolution. At six years old, they started walking to China, and arrived in Shanghai when he was twelve! I asked him what he remembered most about the journey, and he replied "using an ax to chop ice from a frozen river in China to get at the Carp frozen in it so we would have something to eat." This man was then the chief tax attorney for Southern Pacific Railroad. His daughter was a spoiled brat, who had just bought a new 240Z.

Whats the dfference between the Mex and German casing besides the weight? It should perform the same n stock sze.
WoW 1600 is a very good size. I had an 1835 motor long ago when had the Ghia. That was the biggest mistake I ever made for a street driver. end up building a 1600. That was sweet and no more problems anymore. Not even an oil leak.
Found out the hard way they use different plugs...😂

Ah, Lucas!! The inventor of the self-dimming headlight and the intermittent wiper. Makers of the Lucas vacuum cleaner, their only product that didn't suck.
Their company motto, "Because a gentleman does not motor about after dark!!"
Short motto, "Get home before dark!!"
Jaguar once built a car that had all of the electrical functioning properly. They recalled it and fixed it!!
The Lucas three-position light switch; dim, flicker, and off.
The Lucas three-position heater switch; smoke, smolder, and ignite.
Lucas, the best reason NOT to buy a British car.
They've made that crap since 1902!!
