Thanks for those links. His voting record isn't bad on guns according to the votes listed. He got them all right I think. He doesn't like coal power and I didn't like his vote on city property annexation without a vote on March 3, 2016 - but otherwise he doesn't look to be the disaster I thought he was. Maybe he doesn't say anything about guns on his website or in the voter pamphlet because he wants environmentalists to vote for him in his district. If he knows a vote will pass anyway, may not be a bad strategy.

Maybe I judged him to quickly - his voting record seems good on guns. Maybe he doesn't advertise his 2A position in the voter pamphlet or on his website so he doesn't scare off "moderate" Dems?

Good luck with that. I have been trying to unsubscribe for the last two months. They ignore my requests and keep sending me their email. I finally said there was no way I would ever vote for him and to stop emailing me or I would actively campaign against him.
Got another email a couple of days later. I especially don't want a governor that doesn't listen!

Sam Carpenter is the ONLY candidate who pledged to defend 2A in their opening statements. Honestly!

Knute didn't show up.

The NRA called me today asking for money then begging for money . I told him where i live and they have not done a damn thing . The rest of the conversation probably cant be posted.

I challenged Knute about his vote for the latest "enhancement" on the emergency gun confiscaton law. The one that lets ex-wives and ex-girlfriends get a judge to take your guns without due process. He was totally unashamed, to the point that he would not even address the fact that no judge will turn down such a request out of fear that it might go wrong, no matter if there was no truth to the accusation.

He caved on that bill because he is trying to pick up Progressive votes.

Thomas Sowell offered this on the audacity of the "intellectual"; the "intellectual" would have to be smarter than all of us combined, before being able to know what is best for us all.

It is my opinion that Knute thinks he is smarter than all of us combined; thinks he is endowed with a higher level of wisdom...higher than the Founding Father's, and higher than the US CONSTITUTION.

I don't see Knute's great eye overlooking the Founding Father's in this picture...

You nailed it! He is an Elitist, period! His smug mug even enthralls it. Looking at his education it comes as no surprise to me. He was a road scholar just like Bill Clinton was and he earned his masters degree in Politics/Economics at Oxford University in 1988-1990.

So his masters degree is in British politics where they strongly believe in socialist governance.

I'm sorry but if you can't be a man and come out and say EXACTLY what you stand for, all in the name of wooing progressives, than your not worth a pig's fart.

I emailed Knute during all of these recent Senate Bill intros and he replied that he supports the 2A but basically tried to act like he knows better than the peasants and is looking to submit "common sense" gun measures.

His remarks were arrogant and ignorant. He is worse than a RINO in my opinion.

Sam Carpenter is the man that is putting everything on the line and not ashamed about his PRO-Oregon and PRO-America stance. I really think Oregon could greatly benefit from his leadership.
