If you are not a Canadian, then it's not your tax dollars at work, nor are you affected when Canadians are stopped at the border for a search. That is why they're looking for Canadian plates on parked cars at a gunshow.

You are also being naive about the world, digital cameras are everywhere these days.

Alot of the guys here have digital cameras out in the woods to upload images of deer on their cell phones. Some have the digital cameras built into their doorbell butttons to identify porch pirates.

I am astounded that so many are in denial that we live in a surveillance society.

I doubt that Canadian police will bother with sending officers into the USA to photograph Canadian plates in the parking lot of a gunshow in the USA. They can get those images from Google earth or another website.

Which government? Ours or Canada's?

Looking at the US elections, the Socialist Democrats won because of low voter turnout. Many areas in Washington State only had a 35% voter turnout in this election. If you are concerned about communism, then get active in the Republican Party and with voter registration drives. I very much doubt that you have or ever will. Things like bowling night, dart league, and Monday Night Football will have a higher priority for most people.


As for the surveillance society, technology has enabled people to put cameras everywhere. You go into town, there are security cameras everywhere. Everyone can take digital photos and video with their cell phones and upload them online.
