Can this slide be fixed?

I am new to firearms and had my first experience with armslist. I bought a Springfield emp without doing a proper inspection before buying (novice mistake). After further inspection I noticed underneath the slide the previous owner marked 420 in the metal. I am pretty upset with myself for making such a blunder and wondering if its fixable or should I chalk this one up to a lesson learned? View attachment 548819

The numbers were stoned to remove the dimples.
Look at your gun serial number.
Are the last three numbers 420?
If so, the slide is fitted to your receiver.
Should work like a fine Swiss watch.
Clean and lube to maintain perfection.

That looks like a factory number marking. I see them on most every Springfield slide. I just stone it down smooth.

Stone it smooth and re-assemble the gun...it won't hurt a thing and just record that in the description in your serial number book in case it gets stolen !
