Can I buy local upper with BCG to mate with my Ruger AR-556 lower?

So I've had this Ruger AR-556 for about a year, great gun. Except the carbine style front grip/front sight gas tube...

I was thinking about buying new AR, 16-18" barrel, with grip that extends all the way, some nice ones out there, even local, like ORW-15.

But I already have a lower... can I just buy an upper with BCG that I like, and slap it on? Can I do that locally?

It looks like a MILSPEC lower with their roll-mark on it, so if it's MILSPEC.... yes, any MILSPEC upper will go right onto it.

I bought the complete Aero Precision Upper Receiver- M4E1 Threaded 16" .223 Wylde Complete Upper Receiver w/ ATLAS S-ONE Handguard - Anodized Black (w/ BCG, Charging Handle & Epsilon 556)

I also bought a BCM M-Lok short foregrip and a Magpul Battery Assist Device.

And my Ferro Concepts Slingster came in the mail today from Canada, so bonus!

I would call it a compensator.

I think the reason is that they don't want you blasting the shooters on your right and left on the firing line. The targets are only a few feet apart, so we're only a few feet apart. I'm going to take my Ruger upper just in case.
