I always have and always will pack camping or hiking, did 24 years ago too.

i always open carry when i am out in the woods. Easy access when needed and keeps people you dont want to talk to away from you.

I have always carried while camping. 20+ years ago it was mostly for the 4-legged animals. Today it's more for the 2-legged animals.

20 years ago, we had old friends from California come up and camp on our property for a week
they both open carried, even in their RV and on our trips to Gifford Pinchot
My wife asked them to unload at the door, but she still allowed open carry in the house
my son asked why - we have many firearms, but only carry when needed or target shooting
I told him they open carry because they can up here - where they come from in Marin, Co, Cal, they are not allowed to open carry
he thought about that for a minute and says "I don't think I want to live where they do"

Depends on which part of Marin. I use to shoot regularly at Circle S Ranch down the road from the Two Rock Coast Guard station.

my friend still shoots there, I went out with him a couple of years ago
they have baffles up now for restricted filed of fire and one can only shoot from a bench
