So the cascading effect of how a SHTF event is happening. PG & E shuts the power off. People decide to leave the area for the duration of the "event". This puts a tremendous load on neighboring areas to handle this influx of people.

But wait....PG&E forgot to shut off a line (s) in the affected area. Those lines short out and start a fire, in a Red Flag condition weather. This fire blows up and requires the evacuations of over 180,000 people from the area, requires fire resources to be brought in from distance areas and creates general chaos. The typical multiple per cursor events are occurring and there is not a damn thing ANYBODY can do to stop it.

This is an area I am very familiar with, I took my flying lessons in that area. It has heavy fuels, narrow roads and limited infrastructure.

Del Norte Office of Emergency Services shared a post.

UPDATE: Highway 101 has been reopened. However, massive evacuations are underway (180,000 people) and roads are clogged. If it is not necessary for you to travel through the area, please don't.

Politicians and unionized government employees are a crime gang that we should to fear. PG&E lobby efforts have paid off well for Californias politicians . What is really interesting is the power cutoffs have been in the media for quite a while yet way are so many unprepared?

I'm just going to guess that the reason is that the system is hard wired into the grid. That way there is less power decay from panel to grid with reduced risk of surge to your battery and home. I also know that constant input reduces battery life.
IDK I'm not an electrician, I just try to make sense of nonsense situations.

Maybe one day Californian's will realize the disaster of a state they have always been.
Doubt it. Californians mostly love being Californians. When they move to antother state they mostly still are Californians.

Reminds me of a guy I heard yesterday...
He was complaining about an ID check over a lighter, which was cleared without delay. Commented on how "what, do kids just run around lighting things on fire" ... "i'm going to move out of this lame state" the clerk asked where he was from "New York"... the clerk then told him to "have fun back in New York"... I thought it was hilarious.

Los Caracas still has power, but the outage is much bigger than the last one:

I saw the mayor of Los Angeles "eric garcetti" on my morning news and he's claiming they now know the source of ignition that started the Getty Fire !!! It came from GOD !!! he said " A tree branch fell across electric power lines, so in essence this was an act of God. "

Definitely not a failure of the policy to prevent PG&E from clearing growth near transmission lines, then...

So God exists when it is convenient, as long as he stays the hell out of schools, courtrooms, politics, abortion clinics, etc. CHECK.

What did the California (and other socialist countries) use for light before candles?

Electricity. :s0140:

Odd, how kommiefornia self induced misery doesn't cause me any anxiety.

Not even a 'smidgen of corruption' as our last commie in charge liked to say about the irs.

This power company keeps up with all the diversity nonsense, but not their equipment.

Ha Ha!

I've been in third world countries that were better run...

Act of GOD (wind) or a foreseeable event?

Maybe, CA should ban overhead power lines?

CA logic being......
Certain guns should be banned in CA because they COULD be used by a murderer to murder someone someday?

the WIND damaged a powerline - causes giant fire - PG &E is sued into insolvency.

I could just imagine....... that the CA Dems would probably just make the decision to......

Let it BURN.

Aloha, Mark

A few years ago I would never have thought that as a political possibility, but nothing today would surprise me.

It would be a true shame as President and Nancy Reagan are both interred there. It's an amazing place that includes an ex Air Force 1 that you can walk through. My visit there was a very moving experience.
