i may be interested also!
It's in the hands of my buddy who is an architect, should have plans in a couple weeks and then headed to the county to see how much a pain in the butt they can make this.
Count me in. I'd definitely be interested in renting a place like that.
I see sage rats becoming an endangered species.
I hope so, better start buying .17 and .22 in bulk so I can stock the cabin. Maybe leave a brick on the pillow when someone rents it
A brick of 22 on the pillow... I like the cut of your jib
Lake county is one of the better counties to work with, it is easy to get a land use permit.
how big of a cabin are you looking to build? Could it be built here and then hauled over in sections on a trailer? then put together on a long weekend?
Cabin will be 20'x24' with 8'x24' covered front porch. I have a few friends that will be helping with the build and should go fairly fast. They all work for beer so it will cut down on the cost of labor.
that will be a nice size cabin with a porch for setting watching the sunsets!
are you going to build it on pier blocks?
Much better than a fruit basket
I think I'm gonna build it on spread footings post and beam.
Make the porch 10X24 so PPL can sleep on da porch!
I'm interested too.
any updates on the cabin project?
Kinda got put on hold for a couple weeks, my wife is due on saturday. My buddy has plans drawn up and getting them stamped and submitted next week. Should have a firm start date in a month or so
Looks like a good time . I'm up for a week.
Your making me want to go stay at one of my grandpas places now....
Good idea. I'm sure a few people who are responsible would enjoy the time away from the hustle and bustle.
Christmas Valley is home on the range. Sage rats, jack rabbits, coyotes, deer antelope, elk are all in that piece of Oregon. Ana Reservoir and Thompson Res. aren't far away either. I'm retired, so I'd be available to work on the place in exchange for occasional use.
I would be interested as well.
I would be most interested in this if it comes to pass. Current project status? Any idea yet what the rates might be if it does happen?
