https://www.ktvu.com/news/attorney-man-involved-in-muni-killing-shot-in-self-defense

"A man who shot and killed a passenger on a San Francisco subway commuter train will be charged with gun crimes but not homicide in what was "clearly" a case of self-defense after he was attacked with a knife, his attorney said Monday. "

"..., will face charges of having a concealed weapon in a public place and having a loaded gun in a public place, both felonies "

Judged by 12 better than carried by 6.

Hopefully, the felony charges will be reduced by a DA or Court, and he won't loose his gun rights.

This could be a good time to consider jury nullification, not that it actually happens all that often.

Gotta make an example for all the other vile GUN owners who would dare to defend themselves with such an instrument of evil.
How are they making an example of a gun owner who defended himself ? He was NOT charged with homicide and ONLY for other gun violations. Should the fact he used a gun in self defense (and NOT charged with homicide as it was ruled as self defense) negate the other illegalities?

Lets say IF he had NOT use the gun in self defense and had only been discovered carrying it illegally would anybody be complaining? Heck, we probably would never have heard of it. Quite frankly HE should be relieved he is NOT being charged with homicide and just for the other infractions.

Don't get me wrong here - I am GLAD he successfully defended himself and is not being charged with homicide, and hope the felonies DO get reduced but how often is it said 'existing gun laws should be enforced' and as much as I despise CA and their laws it appears they ARE enforcing existing laws.

Kinda interested in their "felony" charges. CPC 25400 Carrying a concealed firearm (loaded or not), Misdemeanor, unless you are a felon or a few other specific cases.
CPC 22850 Carrying a loaded firearm, again Misdemeanor except in certain cases.
Maybe there is some special case being on public transportation or just a SanFran felony, who knows.
