A C.O.R.T. class is being put on, by Eyes In The Woods .org, in Vancouver WA on May 23rd from 6-9 PM at the WDFW office at 2108 Grand Blvd.

Sign up for a CORT Class and have WDFW Enforcement Officers teach you how to identify, document and report wildlife and other natural resource crimes.

This class also is required for Washington's Master Hunter Certification program.

The Crime Observation & Reporting Training program (CORT) Volunteer Expectations:
  • Be willing to identify, document, and report abuses in a non-confrontational manner, and testify if required.
  • Act as a deterrent to resource abuses through exposure.
  • Mentor by example while participating in ethical outdoor activities.
  • Be an information source about the CORT program.
  • Become a supporting Eyes In The Woods member.

Eyes In The Woods has created a state wide network of trained citizens dedicated to reducing poaching, illegal garbage dumping, vandalism and other natural resource abuses on public and private property. They also train volunteers to help wildlife and natural resource agencies with citizen engaged projects from field data collection, biological sample collection to habitat enhancement projects.

Hope to see you there!

This C.O.R.T. class is free of charge (should have mentioned that in the original post).

If we want to stop litter, poaching, damaging natural resources and illegal activity on public lands, then this is what we need to know.

I received my certification 2 years ago and have not had to use it yet. Although, each time I go into the woods, I have my documenting equipment with me and ready to record what I see, if need be. I'll be attending this one just to refresh and renew the procedures.

This training is important if we want to help preserve recreational shooting on public land.

A great and noble cause but in my area almost ALL logging roads have been closed for years. The only area is the Capital forest which is State land and is patrolled by gamies who ticket for not having a Discovery Pass....
