Believe me, I'd have NO PROBLEM telling you to your face to not to make a bad decision on trying to make your own soft armor inserts.

But with about 30sec of google foo, here is one place to buy the inserts for the vest.

Deathdealer, have you worked out what "gauge" of Kevlar, and how many layers you would need to "laminate" (sew, etc) if you wind up going the DIY route? This is fascinating to me.

I say go far it. If you do find the material and make it, I think if nothing else I be interested in how you did it. I hate it when people say that won't work, or why would you do that, that's to hard to do, or that won't work. Screw em do it your way.
