Picked up a 76 vintage Browning BSS 12 ga for a very attractive
price at a garage sale yesterday. I'm not a huge SxS fan, but
it fits fairly well so I might keep it for a bit. Darn thing is 30", and
    choked full-full!

What to do? Keep it and have at least one barrel opened up ?
Spend $400 and have Briley chop it to 26" and fit it for choke tubes?

Looks like these things have a bit of a following--any of you
    familiar with the model?

I bought one at gun show; short stock and pitted in one bbl... I sent mine to Stan Baker in the Seattle area and had it back bored to clear out the pitting. Opened the chokes Full and Mod. TO Mod and Lt. Mod. He did excellent work. I lengthened the stock and put a leather wrap butpad now it's a great handling SXS.Good Luck
