I just joined. As a concerned liberty-loving person, I am considering getting a gun for the first time in my life. I'm 60 years old and have no experience with firearms whatsoever. My boyfriend plans to help me find a suitable gun and will then teach me how to use it. He has many years of experience. He has suggested going to a gun show. Does anyone know if there may be one in either Thurston, Mason or Lewis Counties any time soon? Thanks for any help you can offer. Peace.

l advise a Ruger 10/22. Too many pros and few cons.

Welcome. Not sure about the shows there. I'd suggest a .22 LR in rifle or handgun depending on your interests. Easy to handle and affordable to shoot.

This weekend is the Oct show for WAC at Wesrtren Washington fairgrounds.
I would avoid the rifle and start with a good 22 revolver, best trainer there is

Thank you for your response, much appreciated. Is this weekend's WAC show mostly for gun collectors? I would guess the prices would be pretty expensive, too. Am I right?
