What you currently carry is fine. You've been trained and are familiar with that pistol. So you currently don't carry one in the pipe?

correct. I do not carry in the pipe. I want to. That is why I want the decocker, with first shot DA then SA.

With proper training, carrying a round it the chamber sans a decocker can be overcome. Same goes for the 1st shot of a DA/SA.

As for me, I love striker fired guns (M&P's)
and have no problem with cock-n-locked (1911's)
I have no use for a DA/SA or DA only.

I would recommend shooting a DA/SA gun a good amount before committing to buy one.
