So I was at the range a month ago and my (AR) cartridge would fire but it was not extracting. Brass was still in the chamber but expanded so I had to stop, get the RSO, and hit the buttstock on the counter to drop it right out. That got tiring quickly.

Swapped out the BCG and then no problem.

Took it all apart last week and found the problem.
The bolt was a 7.62x39.
I have never owned an AK nor bought a used bolt from anyone. WTF?! Can only guess it came in a complete upper I bought some time ago. Pretty sure I will never know.

One of those things that will never be explained. Luckily no harm no foul. Good tight fit with the bolt precluded a blowout. But having to empty the chamber every time made me check it out sooner than later!

You're not suppose to do that.
??? The bolt for the 6mm ARC replaces an AR-15 bolt. Same size, different face. I contacted Primary Arms about it.

Good Afternoon,

The carrier will be the same as they all fit Mil-Spec AR-15 uppers.

Very Respectfully,

Re: converting to 6mm ARC

I know that the bolt itself is different from a 5.56, but is the bolt carrier the same? Can I use a 6.5 Grendel Type 2 bolt in a 5.56 bolt carrier? O must I purchase a whole new BCG?

Thx
Bill Andrews
