Companies have converted SMLE rifles in the past, but I don't believe anyone is currently offering the kit.
I don't know that any factory built rifle is or ever had offered this option. My guess is the AK mag design probably has something to do with it.

The CZ 527 is offered in 7.62x39 with detachable magazines.

The CZ 527 is a fine Carbine. it shoots and handles very nicely.
That being said CZ magazines are almost $40.00 each.
Being able to use a AK magazine which are cheaper and easier to get would be nice.

You are right. After getting something custom made $40 magazines would seem cheap. Only problem is the magazines only hold 5 rounds.

I'm wondering why bother with a bolt gun if its capacity you desire? Maybe an SKS? Maybe ditch 7.62x39 and go 7.62x51 and get a ruger scout rifle?

I have several AKs, ARs and AR-10s. I have used the 7.62x39 round to harvest my last 2 blacktails. I would a bolt gun that used AK mags for the heck of it. No real need just a want. I have a ruger gsr and like it.

Yeah I have seen those online, just can't find one for sale. That would do the trick.

i was thinking of a new rifle able to use AK magazines ... Not converting a CZ to use the AK magazines.
