This may be true but these guys are not on $1200 budgets....

That's strange my 200 takes all the normal Savage 10 series aftermarket parts, as long as I get the right screw spacing. I wonder what they changed?I bought a Stevens 200 in 308 a few years back; with the exception of an upgraded trigger there are NO after MKT parts because the dang thing will not accept a Savage replacement stock. The Stevens stock is so flimsy that a piece of Styrofoam is placed in the butt to keep it from collapsing. The recoil was brutal.
Go Savage or Rem.
I had thought about the Savage 10pc. It's actually what I started out looking for. But the 10t have me everything it has for 150 to 200 less.
My thought with my 10-T was if I ever want to suppress it I also have the chance to cut down the barrel I want, so I don't have a ton of length. If you ever want to suppress it, it's going to cost you $150-$200 for a good thread job. Not knocking your rifle. I'm just a buy once cry once kind of guy. Really, congrats on the gun. I just started shooting LR and love it. Looking forward to your build and seeing how it shoots. My only advice is stick with precision ammo. Federal, Hornady, Nosler, etc.
