Should I be concerned? Perhaps, something to think about in these times in Amerika?

https://www.yahoo.com/news/murder-mayhem-farming-free-state-125621042.html

Moderates among the farmers have appealed for calm, arguing that the real problem is unchecked criminality, which affects black farmers as well as white. But either way, more than just racial harmony is at stake.
Mind you that.....
Being prepared......is NOT about being divisive or political.

I have a number of Boer friends in Natal Province, all of whom carry sidearms, with long guns leaning up against the vehicle doors - 24/7. All are ex-Army, three were SF, and they are all confident of catching any perpetrators very quickly and administering local 'geregtigheid oomblik' - instant justice - right there. All are married, and have wives quite capable of defending themselves, or, at least, making buying their lives very expensive for anybody breaking in to their property if the men are not there.

Thread title changed.
While reluctant to change what someone else posts due to a spelling error...
When writing about other cultures and history , it is important to get the spelling correct.

Please note that I am not the world's greatest speller , nor do I try to be the "Grammar Police".
I will say that proof reading before posting and the backspace button are my best friends here at times...:D

It’s more gooder now!

Just spent a week working alongside a S African from Jo'berg. When I asked him about Die Antwoord, he said that they were very non-representative of South African rappers.
Let alone plant earth.... :s0140:

And in a paroxysm of irony Zimbabwe invited the White farmers they murdered, maimed and ran off to come back. They found out that if they want eat they need competent farmers, and just giving title to a piece of land to a political crony doesn't make it productive.

Mine too, and would like to add "delete" to that bag of tools.
For every post I've made, I likely have written twice as much in either venting, or just being verbose on some subject, then, after further thought, just deleted it, (your welcome:p) never hitting "post reply".
Still, strangely enough, feeling satisfied I'd said my peace.

Rhodesia was the breadbasket of southern Africa. Under Mugabe it became another starving African nation.
When I was there 11 years ago they were selling their currency as novelties Outside Victoria Falls park.
Under great socialist leader Mugabe, they drove off the white farmers and gave their land to the "People",
of whom absolutely no one knew how to farm. The land went fallow and the people starved.
Massive, Weimar type inflation ensued. When I asked our PH why the People didn't change regime in the time-honored way of assassinating Mugabe ? He told me that there was a standing order for the army to kill every white person in Zimbabwe in the event of Mugabe's removal from office by other means. So, the People struggled on.

Attached are some pics of Zim dollars. Nowadays, they use anyone's currency but their own Rand, Pula, Pound and US Dollars are all welcome, just don't expect change

Some of my favorites
Yeah! That does say 100 Trillion Dollars

Sadly, the short term solution if you find yourself caught up in this would be to leave immediately. South Africa is experiencing a similar brain drain, and their economy and society is paying the price for it.

The whole continent of Africa is having a brain drain.
A tour guide in Namibia was telling us how villages would pool money to sent their brightest kids off to school to become doctors and leaders for that village only to have them stay in the USA or France or England.

"How you gonna keep 'em down on the farm once they've seen Paree?"

People who whine about how bad the poor have it in America need go to Africa or India to see what real poverty is,
