Blown gas rings on M4s

Yep, gone not all the gas rings but theyll be missing one or two rings.

Are you certain they were there to begin with? ARs will run with 1 or 2 ring for a while.

Such an easy fix, it is not worth it. Just deal with it and put new ring set in it.

Again these are brand new M4A1s. Wi stood my BCG up on the bolt and the carrier collapsed down to the bolt and would not stay up. So im guessing my gas rings are also toasted.

That is the test and it failed. You need new rings.

I have built a AR for 450 bucks and it works .
F them send it back .

I'm guessing you are Law enforcement .
The training and the talk of other guys .
Send them back to FN .
I BET THEY CHARGE YOUR DEPARTMENT .

i was told, a general rule of thumb is if you can extend the bolt out in the carrier and stand the BCG upright on the bolt face, it shouldnt collapse if your rings are good.

Again, that is THE test. The AR may continue to work for a while but they are wore and need replacing. One or 2 will wear out faster and need replacing sooner.

i always carry extra rings in my stocks.

Why stop there? I carry a complete bolt, cam pin, firing pin, retaining pin...covers a lot of ground.

yep. i have a firing pin, firing pin retainer, gas rings, and cam pin in my stock

A bolt has gas rings on it, plus a new extractor, ejector, springs and lugs.

We've been out training for 2 weeks we're on our third week. We've noticed that some of our m4s have been having issues. Cleaning our M4s we noticed that gas rings are missing from the bolts of the M4s that are having issues. These are brand new M4A1s made by FN. We had beat up Colt M4s before that never had this problem. We're scratching our heads as to whats happening. We did some shooting but it was nothing serious.

Again these are brand new M4A1s. We noticed the issues during live fire some M4s became bolt action M4s. Some guys said their gas rings fell out when they took their bolts out of the carrier. Others just said they were missing. i stood my BCG up on the bolt and the carrier collapsed down to the bolt and would not stay up. So im guessing my gas rings are also toasted. So far I've fired 12rds to zero and 40rds to qual. Then i fired 5 30rds mags on auto to burn up range ammo. Again ive never encountered this problem with beat up colt M4s and M16A2 or even the FN M16A4.

I just went back and re-read the OP after reading the post above. Are saying this is happening with multiple guns and these guns are "related"?

I don't know from what I can figure .
This guy is a law enforcement officer.
So basically I am paying for those Rifles .
So I want the manufacturer to make them work.

So I'm guessing he is law enforcement .
