Eh, donating to a Dem vs Rep is like choosing a spouse that'll kill you by stabbing vs kill you by long, drawn out arsenic poisoning. You're going to die either way and probably should have chosen a different woman.
Philosophically I am a Libertarian but from a pragmatic standpoint I vote Republican because I really have no choice in the matter. If I vote for a democrat for any office from dog catcher to POTUS I am voting for an agenda I fundamentally disagree with at my core.
If I vote for a Republican I am probably going to see some support for a few things that I agree with and a lot I object to. Having an all or nothing political philosophy may sound good for those who want to be so high minded that they can rationalize doing nothing
The truth is though if you aren't voting against an agenda you disagree with you are passively giving it approval . A slow walk to socialism may not be preferable to a sprint, but at least you have some valuable time to be as much of a hindrance as you possibly can and not aid it getting accomplished in a speedy fashion.
