ya im really interested in finding out why this would be illegal after all if you paid to have that rug done it would be well over 500 so im sure your not trying to make a profit . and another its yours not oregons and not the the feds

]I would like to apologize to salmonriverjohn for my uneducated and un called for smart *** attitude. You sir are correct. I thank you for your information. This is what I have found out about my bear rug. I have a few things to get and then I will be able to sell my bear. They are as listed below. I have an appointment to have my bear registered and approved for privet sale with the Clackamas office of the Oregon fish and wildlife. So when it is registered and tagged by the government it will be back up for sale. But it will have a bigger price tag.

im really surprised about this also i would never guessed . i called osp in bend this morning and talked to a game officer . he told me that a bear rug cant be sold but a deer or elk can be with the proper paper work from fish and wildlife . well thanks for all the info its not that i was interested in buying one but may have some day wanted to sell one

Damn I hate paperwork. I just wanted to say thankyou to every one who kept their cool and let this post play out. Not only did it help the seller (nice guy) it also shielded myself. I too have a Bear rug I was looking to swap and was watching to see if it was very prosperous. Now I see, only if I enjoy bartering in ciggarettes. This is a very nice piece with a beautiful head. I am quite sure when you go to put it up for sale the next time it'll be in the $500-$700 range and hopefully end up in a office in Bend. Again thanks to all with input, this is one of the reasons I love NWF. Sometimes I get a good laugh and others I take out a pen and paper. Happy Holidays folks.
