"Opponents of police selling guns do not have a logical reason for the police to destroy guns rather than sell them. They acknowledge very few guns sold by police end up being used in crime.

The arguments are all emotional. Some police say they would feel bad if they sold a gun and it were used in a crime. Well, "years ago" we didn't have background checks and firearms could be sold private party to private party.

The dealer who initially received the firearm probably sold it legally (if he knew what was good for him).

What are some current statistics? Something more recent than a story/mishap that happened "years ago"!

The big worry of this bill is simple; people that get red flagged either with proper cause or not will be in the knife fight of trying to get their guns back and they will be legally destroyed in the process.
