Bill Clinton: Great Democracy Doesn’t Make It Harder to Vote Than to Buy an Assault Weapon

Former President Bill Clinton speaking during the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday claimed the U.S. is in danger of having stricter voting laws than gun laws.

“A great democracy does not make it harder to vote than to buy an assault weapon,” Clinton said, referring to voter ID laws meant to discourage voter fraud.

This serial rapist needs some boot up his ash!

Uh Bill, in Oregon it is easier to register to vote and to vote itself than it is to buy sudafed cold medicine. That requires a doctor's prescription and the Fed law requires ID info to be copied down along with a purchase limit on quantities.

Bill Clinton: Great Democracy Doesn't Make It Harder to Vote Than to Buy an Assault Weapon

As was my response to my wife when I read this headline earlier today: "He must love the US then, even with voter ID laws in place everywhere, as the same ID is needed when I decide to go to my FFL to buy myself a nice AR."

I'm not sure what "assault weapon" he talks about, to my best knowledge the acquisition of a pre-May-86 assault weapon, the only ones legal to us humble footfolk, still takes a huge bag of money, a $200 tax stamp with a long approval time and the need for some local police chief to OK it.

Or is he advocating "voting trusts"?

I just put up a light hearted post on Facebook suggesting that, instead of arguing with Bill about his remark, we just require a 4473 and background check for prospective voters. I suspect that might change the outcome of elections a bit.

Our elections belong to AMERICAN CITIZENS, not every illegal from any other nation.
Bill cigar sucker get a brain.

So: providing a gov't issued ID to vote is harder than providing a gov't issued ID AND filling out a 4473, then waiting to be approved?

"A gun is like a parachute. If you need one and don't have it, you'll probably never need one again!"

Bill Clinton........

I still remember what happened with the AW Ban. So......%^@* him and the horse he rode in on.

Ok, Ok, Ok, I take it back about the horse.

Aloha, Mark

Believe he was referring to private sales. There's probably more scrutiny in FTF sales than voter registration.

It makes me absolutely sick to see these buttholes try to slide bs gun control during the anniversary of Dr. King's speech. It takes a certain kind of sick person that would try and piggy back some personal bleeding heart mumbo jumbo on to something like this.

Even in the face of facts they continue to tread on expecting different results isn't that the definition of insanity? And doest that make you unfit to lead?

The whole "anniversary" was nothing but a circle jerk of liberal feel good politics. I really wonder if Dr. King is rolling over in his grave realizing that these elitist pricks are the ones officiating the commemoration of a speech that sought to tear down the barriers they are putting up.

As I recall, there were many votes cast by.dead people in the last presidential election. I would like to see one of those people be able to purchase an "assault weapon." Nice try, though, slick Willie...

Well said AMProducts,

Watch the talking heads yesterday, not a one gave a speech celebrating the 50th !!

All were grandstanding for the cameras.

Noticed there was not one "conservative" talking head in the bunch.

MLK was about "all are created equal" the talking heads were spewing class envy, socialism and making queers a special class.
