I almost did leave several times, I didn't mention the hour or so we sat in the car with the doors locked. As the night progressed they moved off to the north east, that made me feel better. We should have checked for prints and stuff in the morning, but the urge to get the **** out of there was really strong. I want to go back but my wife isn't too wild about the idea.

Damn they sound like howling monkeys in Panama then.

Trying to sleep in the jungle is bad enough. Then you get herds of 30-200 2-3' tall monkeys running around at 2 am sounding just like King Kong (size and loudness) that you can't see even with NVG's thanks to triple canopy jungle you develop a whole new appreciation for sleeping with your rifle. Once they started howling the only other sound to be heard was 40 M16 bolts going forward and a few 60's/SAW's loading up belts as well. I felt safe enough to go back to sleep between the howling.

Anyone who has been face to face with a Bigfoot and has looked into it's eyes can tell you those eyes have an extreme
property to them.

Less then 8 feet in front of me as i walked up an incline.

Eyes : They do not have WHITE to they're eyes
the eyes are a burnt Orange color with vertical black lines from the pupils spanning out,
as though it was all Iris and Pupil at the center.

Are they REAL ?

Indeed they are real.

Is there any need to prove that to anyone?

NOPE, it is better that the Inhumane Human Race knows nothing about these creatures.

I, for one, hope 'we' never find out if Sasquatch is real. The day Bigfoot is proven without a doubt to be real to the general public is the day the species is sentenced to extinction. If they are out there leave them alone! I've spent most of my life in the woods of the Cascade range and I've seen, heard, and smelled some interesting things over the years. I will state, for the record: THERE IS NO SASQUATCH.

Sorry about that, I didn't mean to get your panties all in a bunch. I was just curious why one would tell the tale and then refute existence of the beast for "conservation" purposes. Would not it been a more intelligent choice to not tell the story in the first place? Come on, now everyone on here knows Big foot is real because of you and they are surely going to be out hunting them to extinction. You even gave up the poor little guys location, I'm calling Greenpeace on you!

No sightings or stories, personal or second hand, but, has anyone heard of the "Cape Ape" ?..... Supposedly a big foot like creature in the woods around Cape Lookout to Hebo. Occasionally have heard about this one for approx. 30 years.

Do I believe there could still be something out there in the remote woods that has yet to been proven to exist ? ...Sure...Just go to downtown Portland in the NW side, real late on a Saturday night. You'll see all kinds of scary creatures that you wont be able to identify.

In a more technical vein: I noticed in your main post you spoke of some "specialists" the were worling on the "Patterson" film.

The technique these guys supposedly used is called "Linear Photogrammetry". It is a forensic technique that is used to determine the height / size of a subject depicted in a known video / film. It's origins trace back to WWII photographic interpretation and recon satellite imagery. It is commonly used today in bank robbery investigations to identify the bad guys in security camera videos.......Heres the rub: For this technique to be conclusive, you need a series of precise mathematical values taken from the original site where the image was made, (the exact height of the camera, the exact camera to subject distance, the exact size of stationary objects seen in the image, just to name a few) Now, how could anyone get this data from the original scene in the woods, years after the image was taken ? Answer ? no one could....TV is loaded with so-called forensic experts willing to do a "song and dance" for a buck. Common example - so-called polygraph (lie detector) experts on day time talk shows. They can throw up data and diplomas for provenance, but the product they peddle is SWAG (scientific wild azz guess)

Yeah, they talked about everything you said here on the show I watched. They said due to not having the exact measurements they couldnt do it that way. So they were able to use some sort of software that takes known objects in the field of view of the camera and assigns measurements to them based upon known objects. Like the standard size of a mature maple leaf, or whatever. Based upon this software they used, they were able to determine the height of the target in the video. Im probably not explaining it well, youd have to see the episode to get a better idea. I am by no means a professional, or claim to be, but it sounded legitimately logical to me the way they presented it.
