In Wa state its not worth it. Its considered an assault weapon (and semi-auto rifle) and all that entails.If I'm going to jump through the (lifetime continuous) hoops for an 'assault weapon' then its gotta be worth it.

I-1639 requires the state patrol to create a database (registry). Each year, at a minimum everyone in the database goes through another background check including giving up their HIPA rights. And once on the list, there are no provisions to getting off it even if the person no longer owns the firearm. That was the last I heard. I talked to my FFL and he said the state patrol's target date is 2023.
