Just remembered this one from the late '70s. Not a movie but a mini-series, much like Band of Brothers. 13 episodes that will get you hooked right away. Excellent acting and realistic production. Story of British bomb disposal units in the London blitz. Full episodes used to be on YT but I don't see them anymore. Looks like it is available on AcornTV and Paramount+. Here's a review:

This one was pretty darn good. Superb acting.

RE : Post #141
Mini-Series Subjects. I remember that one. But I wasn't really a big fan at the time.

Hummmm.......speaking of "Nazi Treasures" and leftover presents, etc..... etc......

Yeah.......having said that.......
I think it was on PBS (long ago) when I saw a mini-series about the British counterfeit 5-pound notes. Yup....even today the notes still appear from time to time.

Sorry, but I couldn't remember the name of the series. Maybe one day I'll run across it on YouTube.

Note : Today we see counterfeit money that comes out of Peru, N. Korea, etc...... Yeah, could they also be "Government Sponsored Notes?" I'd venture to guess that even China may/might have a hand in it. Or maybe just sitting on a stash?

Aloha, Mark

I was considering doing an update to the detailed breakdown of responses that I posted last Memorial Day.

But after all of Mark's additional offerings, I think I will just skip it 🤣

Mele Kalikimaka Mark!

Best Recent War Movie for me is "Grey Hound" a story about the Battle for the Atlantic, based on historical actions, and the book Good Shepperd, a VERY well portrayed movie that takes place during a fictional, but historically accurate Crossing of the Atlantic by American and Allied Convoys to support and build Great Britton's fight against the Nazi's during WW-II! If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend it!

The supposed end of the war in the Balkans

Slavic language with English subtitles

Terrifying... some call it a horror movie as much as a war movie

Also I don't think anyone mentioned "The Bridge at Remagen"... did they?

Probably mentioned (I hope) somewhere in these 8 pages..but my personal favorites are The Longest Day and Patton
Are you a reader? I pick up books about the wars for cheap at estate sales. If you're interested in George Patton I'd ship you his book "War as I Knew It", first copy, 1947. It's mostly writings from his notes during WWII. It will give some real incite on what the man was made of. Made me realize that, had it been someone else in his shoes the war in Europe could have gone very differently.
