I find the M1 Garand's kid is cute.
And that the FAL is just a man's rifle.
That's just too cool, Andy! What a great heirloom! I'd take the gig too!
I have my grandfathers Grand Army of the Potomac (Civil War) medal. Hard to find an opportunity to wear it!
Just a bunch of short case bottom feeders...
But this, this is a man's rifle...
Eh, they're good guns. Love them all. My Garand, FAL. The m1a's I've shot, the ar-10's. But there's just nothing like the classic .30-06 military bolt gun...
The only man's bolt gun is a 8mm Mauser.
You can hunt werewolves at night with it, and everything else during the day.
Ive had a LOT of experience with them . Thats why I didnt pick the FAL.
The issue with gas leaking in a FAL is stopped by having the short gas tube instead of the long.
The long gas tube can work loose and gas can leak through the threads. In the short gas tube there's nowhere for the gas to leak.
My son in the CG has orders for Nags Head, NC this August & I do plan to visit him a few times.... hint hint....
@Ura-Ki well I guess that range trip in August just got a little bit more fun! I hope you brought the Savage so we can test it with the Tikka and see the results.
Never been to that part of the coastal NC, but its probably a 4 hour drive.
Gief details on this FAL. Who made it and all.
Since Sgt Nambu went there...
My quest for a Distinguished Rifleman badge is ongoing...
He loves to travel as much as I do... lol
NICE!!! AR10 tis my next build me thinks....
Your jig will work on that as well won't it? If it does that will be cool.
I'll have to buy an AR10 conversion for it but the FSIL will pony up for that....
Well if you're there before the semester starts hit me up. I think I have some ammo left in the fine pile.
Probably next year, will PM you when we arrange our East coast (NC) visit.
Scar 17 hands down.
Lightweight, accurate, reliable, and very mild recoil with or without pws comp.
Main complaint is that it is hard on optics.
I say don't put bubblegume optics on your 3k rifle
Guess FN wanted to keep that tradition with their rifles. The FAL is pretty hard on optics as well.
But then again those complaints could have been due to people buying cheap optics that have no place on a .308.
