I have made this a winter project. After a range trip with some issues, I got down to really cleaning it up. The barrel was very dark and I patched and brushed...brushed and patched some more. Got it respectable but because of its age (1937) and ammo used prior to the non-corrosive stuff, It is still far from bright. Any fixes besides a new barrel? $55 for a replacement one plus shipping.

Thanks for the any info.

Hey thanks for the recipe...was about to give up on this thread. The barrel has matching numbers so wanted to try and get it back as best I could. I ordered another barrel so I can work on this one.
