Wired, so what is your solution to this problem? I am trying to see your perspective but so far your comments are mostly inflammatory. Let's hear some cerebral thoughts, I am truly interested. The co- management is a byproduct of the 50/50 split of the fin fish that has been affirmed by Judge Boldts interpretation of the treaty. Are you saying only the tribes should have a say in their harvest with no other input from the other entity?

OK well I'm really not trying to make enemies here but I PULL NO PUNCHES I'M GOING TO CALL IT AS I SEE IT .AND YOU COME OFF AS A LIB IN DISGUISE sorry bro but that's how it looks

I dont see my comments as inflammatory at all. To be honest I see the whole treaty situation as a one sided deal. I do work on the Yakama reservation although I do not live there and I occasionally interact with the natives ( As an engineer running a facility its much easier than interacting with the state guys btw ) but I have no problem admitting that the natives got the very short end of the stick in a lot of ways. They don't feel the same way about the relevance of a US judge ruling on their sovereignty that we do FWIW and I have no problem supporting ANY group who stands up for themselves . I understand that they are probably not reporting all of their catch and they are sloppy in their hunting as well but those are our rules we forced upon them and not theirs. I can only look at things through my eyes. If I were native I'd tell whitey to go screw himself.

Listen man I got friend 's that are native American some agree with me some don't but they way I see it is they are using these 100 year old treaty as a excuse to get away with robbing the rest of us something has got to change or we all will suffer even them

And I will never put any one on ignore I want to hear from all ignore is the latest version of censorship

I dont get that whole ignore thing. If you are so freakin' pantywaist you cant carry on a conversation with someone who doesnt agree with you without wetting yourself then ignore away. No one wants you around anyway. Get that Joe13? Probably not.

I truly believe we did the Native Americans a disservice by creating reservations and the treatys. We should have integrated them into our society and they would have been much better off and we would not have this sovereign nation within a nation super citizen BS. We are all Americans and we all should have the same rights period.

Well like posted yesterday or the day before I can't remember go to CUT BANK MONTANA TO THE BLACK FEET RESERVATION IT'S AWFUL they have no casino and no fish they are poor as poor could be but we got people living in are city's that don't work and only collect welfare that live better than them I'm not a bleeding Hart but I do see a socialist government in the beginning

Totally off topic but I once heard that a full blood Puyallup Indian gets $10K or so a month in payments from the Casino biz and that there is quite the "competition" to land a full blood wife so that all the kids will get full payments as well. First time in history a squaw was worth more than a plug nickle.

I have been around several reservations including the one you reference EPS. Very sad indeed but I think the situation is a by product of the treatys and the reservations and sucking off the government tit too long. Not much different than white families that can't break the welfare cycle only it is even more visible because they are congregated on the reservations. I am still waiting for input on a possible solution Wired.

That's true like I said I know some puyallup Indian 's but don't forget if you're family is not a direct decendat of the tribe you don't get s### my ex brother was with a puyallup tribe member she got $2.500 month and she had a job at the casino that she made bout $3.000 a month but the $2.500 a month was non taxes

All this reminds me of the arguments in the 90's that we should have open season on sea lions because they are decimating the salmon population.

Nope, sorry. The problem is not the fishermen on the banks and their boats on the rivers. It's not native Americans either.
I was close friends with a WDFW fish management person on the Columbia. The rules are ridiculous. She would tell me of boats pulling up alongside each other and coming to blows because of perceived rule breaking. Fooking crazy.
While reporting is important and vital to game management, the real poaching is happening 50+ miles off shore. Look at the fisheries across the globe and all the crashing populations of species, some coming close to or already extinct. You can't really manage what is done illegally on a mass scale.

It's like arguing that food stamps are a significant contribution to the budget deficit.

Any way you look at it, including casinos or fishing, native Americans got a good arz rogering by our government and army. Ranchers currently do too, and if you look at the latest Executive Orders by BHO, there's going to be a fight and more Malheur's ahead.

So tomorrow I'm going out to my brother in-laws father house and I will take a picture of a perfectly good fishing boat that has been parked in there back yard for year's LOL WHY BECAUSE YOU CAN'T USE A GILL NET IN THE RIVER'S OR THE SOUND UNLESS YOUR NATIVE AMERICA MMMMM BUT OH YA THEY DIDN'T CATCH ANYTHING EATHER MMMMM

I don't know if he was talking bout you or me but whatever one of us is on everyone 's ignore list lol

Before Joe 13 deleted his own post ( Hard to respect a man like that. ) he was talking about me. Some people just do not understand what discussion forums are for. They are not agreement forums. For the life of me I will never understand that sort of reasoning but I know I'm the better man because I can carry on a conversation with someone who's viewpoint appalls me and then go out and have a beer with him..

OK I wasn't sure but like said I would rather argue all night than just hit ignore LOL

This nation was stolen from the natives, and we expect them to report anything to our government. Natives didnt dam the rivers and kill entire fish runs. Im sure they never had a problem with not enough fish before the US government claimed their lands.
