I thought they were going to correct that after Texas froze a couple years ago?
I'm currently a substation engineer, in order to change, it can take years for design, but mostly permitting before construction can even begin. With a transmission project, each property requires an easement and in many cases, most government property requires an environmental study.

So in other words, the puke politicians aren't doing much of anything? God help us if The U.S is ever attacked. We'd be history before they got the permits. And if bidden and hair-arss were in office? Ooof.

The government doesn't work for you. It's like when a politician touts how their gun control measure is helping.

so i open my phone up this morning and see this unposted comment i half remember drunkenly punching out on my phone at like midnight

does it still count as drunk posting when you post it in full soberness the following day?

enjoy...

@The B , we don't see eye to eye much but today you are on a roll! Keep the funnies coming!
man i had beers to drank today.. it was too hot to just be home so i had to go get on the water and subsequently be not only still hot but also in DIRECT sunlight all day

even wearing my stetson 100% of the day my neck looks about like the leather of my boots

between the cigarettes and the sun theres a pretty much 0.00% chance i survive 50. maybe 55 if i were to "fight it," but im telling you right now if im diagnosed with a basically terminal cancer like lung or metastasized skin cancers, the last goddamn thing ima do is start any kind of soul-sucking treatment thats going to interfere with my apocalyptic-scale rage partying

i cant imagine loading up on viagra and smoking meth with every young relatively doable crackhead i can get my hands on is much fun when youre on chemo, nam sayin

dude, lung cancer? untreated, you are OUT in like two years. you are pretty fckn operable for most of that. last three months, yea youre literally going to waste unto death and its gonna be unpleasant. but the other 15 months youre just rippin it up, man. ALL the drugs. ALL the crimes. ALL the girls. thats like the perfect amount of time to blast out like a supernova. total fckng rockstar. all in. no holds barred. 90s russian bare-knuckle partying.

anyway, so yea i drank 7.2abv beers to manage hydration on a full day of intense sweating.. forgive if i ramble.. n smoked that devils lettuce.. n at least two other fun-enhancers that i can think of..

<cough cough cough>

escuse me. no covid. thats just how i am.

anybody else have to do that everywhere you went for like the first year of covid? hackcoughgag in line at a goddamn QFC and feel socially obligated to actually break your personal 4th wall and speak to strangers around you and explain youre a filthy smoker and this is completely normal for you? and then almost always get that awkward upside down smile thing and "oh, ok" response like they have assessed your testimony and accept it as fact in the QFC graces-court, from someone who's probably going to resent you for the rest of the day for invading their mental bubble and more or less causing their coupled awkward response if that fckn idiot had just kept to himself i wouldnt have to feel this shame..

Is there a different link? Thanks.

My late husband used to say that if you drink something hot, a mug of black coffee, when it is hot outside or on a ship (Below deck. Engine or boiler rooms.) where it is humid/hot like in Nam, all over the world, etc. - you don't feel as hot as if you drank a cold soda or iced tea.

His fellow shipmates said the same thing too.

He said the same thing for Central and South America, in other parts of the world, etc. while on the ground with the Air NG Fighter Wing too.

He followed the same procedure (Black coffee.) AND added cold water or cold milk to his daily routine when he was not drinking coffee. He did drink some iced tea once in a blue moon but he preferred his mugs of GOOD plain coffee.

I drink far LESS coffee compared to when I was younger but a mug of plain hot and good coffee, a hot cup of tea, a hot cup of water with a dash of honey in it usually COOLS me off better than a cold glass of water or a glass of iced tea.

QUALITY made cranberry, orange, grape or blackberry juice with NO added sugar in it served super cold and with LOTS of ice is a nice treat too. Sometimes apple juice is so so and you may as well eat the apple all alone with a glass of water on the side.

My Dad used to tell me the same Adam Schiff when I was a kid bugging him for a soda... frankly, I never tried it!

I never tasted bourbon.

I did taste some famous type of 'scotch' one time that some client gave to my Aunt C - the famous lawyer and not just due to her law firm as a partner from the early 50's and on.

God - I almost choked. It was famous, expensive and a Christmas gift to her. I took one taste of it and holy moly. I did not like the taste of it at all.

My late Mom used to say, "Eat this or that since it is GOOD FOR YOU (Quality food.) and it will put hair on your chest!"

That was fine for my older brother but my older sister and I would say that we did not want hair on our chests. IT was a JOKE for some of you who don't get my old time sayings that some of us were raised with.

I did hear that spicy food was good to eat in hot weather too.

Take care.

Spicy food ala Mex and Tex-Mex is good ANY time!:D So are Isley peat scotches!

What is IPA? I looked it up. India pale ale. I never heard of that name or those words before.
On the last flight I took, across the aisle the girl ordered an IPA. The man next to her asked what that was.
"A kind of beer."

So twice in a couple weeks I am near someone who didn't know an IPA.

My view that many think IPA are the bees knees, but I don't like 'em:

I tried it, so you, all you, don't have to.
Thumbs down.

What could have possibly possessed you to do that to yourself?

Beer ain't broke.....

I had to google "IPA" too: "India pale ale is a hoppy beer style within the broader category of pale ale. The style of pale ale which became known as India pale ale was widespread in England by 1815, and would grow in popularity, notably as an export beer shipped to India and elsewhere."

I still don't get it. Isn't "pale ale" what you get an hour or so after you have a couple beers?? 🤣

Maybe with biden's new "Climate Emergency" declaration, things can be sped up..
No, all politicians are the same. This has gone on for 50 years! He's just the most recent. There is not enough in fixing it for a 'person' to spend HUGE $$$ on. Name it what? The Biden Electrical Transmission Park? Doesn't matter to them. Plenty of other things to spend someone else's money on that'll bring more recognition. Hardening and updating the grid just isn't anywhere on their list of importance. The next guy's problem!

Is it no wonder people don't trust them?
