If you like baseball, I would recommend this highly. I grew up in the Portland area, played baseball from about 8-high school, went to Beaver's games and had no idea of the story behind the Portland Mavericks, or the fact it was started by Bing Russel and Kurt Russel played for them. It's only 80 minutes long and a damn good story.

I'd seen this on my netflix list and hadn't given it much thought. I think I'll watch it now for sure.

I'm not a big base ball fan but I sure respect the game. I've only been to one late season game of the Portland Beaver's and loved the way they worked the kids in the crowd! It's still hard for me to believe they turned a perfectly good base ball field into a soccer field. SOCCER, for God sakes!!

You'll be surprised to see when the Mavericks took over Civic Stadium is was set up for soccer! Even in the 70's it was being played in Portland, but in this case the Beaver's weren't forced out by it, rather it was a league decision to move them.

I'm not a baseball fan at all and I thought the story was fantastic.
