This is from my brother's estate. I have zero info about it. I posted a thread inquiring if anybody recognizes what it is, and @Andy54Hawken thinks "Looks like it might have started life as either a Pattern 1914 Enfield or a US model 1917 Enfield".

I have no use for it and hoping that one of you would like a project. I have no idea about its value, so I'm just going to ask for $100. If that price is out of line, let me know and make an offer. I'd also be happy with 5.7x28, or 5.56 ammo in trade.

I suggest you see if a 30,06 round will chamber.
If yes it is most likely a 1917. If it will not close more likely a 303 brit !

What you have is a Remington manufactured Pattern 1914 that's been heavily sportified. Unless both the bolt and barrel has been swapped it is still more than likely chambered for .303. Should be proof stamping all over if you look closely. A 1917 will be marked

"U.S."
"Model of 1917"
"Remington"
